Latest MEG News
February 10, 2010: The annual service was a success, the system is fully functional - and now with decent acoustic insulation. Book ye slots! (if you can get any)
January 28, 2010: The lab is almost fully booked until April 2010. Please, plan your studies in advance!
January 27, 2010: The construction of acoustic insulation wall in the lab is almost complete. The initial 'shouting test' gave good results - it seems like we can now have heated conversations (or parties) in the control room outside MSR without disturbing the subject inside!
January 25, 2010: The CBU MEG research has been extensively featured at the annual UK MEG conference in Cardiff, with talks from Max Garagnani, Rik Henson, Friedemann Pulvermuller and Yury Shtyrov. September 24, 2009: Biomag 2010 is in Dubrovnik, March 28 - April 1, abstract deadline is 10th October (see http://www.biomag2010.org/) September 15, 2009: Welcome to the new academic year! The MEG lab is now equipped with an MEG compatible eye-tracker (SMI), and eye-tracking data can be saved together with the MEG data stream. New projects making use of the eye-tracker are welcome! May 15, 2009: For better HPI co-registration, we have switched to using 5 coils instead of 4. This should further help in eliminating HPI problems during recordings and maxfilter-postprocessing. January 15, 2009: After the annual maintenance, all systems at the MEG lab are working properly (and some even better than before). Data acquisition software has been patched promising more stable recording experience. May 18, 2008: Welcome to Marie Smith, a new post-doc to join the MEG lab for (at least) the next 2 years. Marie will mostly work on projects done in collaboration with GSK (who is funding her post). She has vast experience in EEG and MEG analysis and we are all looking forward to working with her. February 1, 2008: Three more MNE-ready Linux workstations have been installed in the common user room. There are now 5 machines with the fast OpenGL graphics cards required for MNE, freesurfer, and the new FSLview. November 21, 2007: Two MNE workstations in the common user room up and running. MNE is also fully installed on the linux cluster. Any tools that can be run on the linux cluster remotely, will work. If you attempt to start a component which requires OpenGL, a message will pop up telling you to go to an MNE workstation. November 20, 2007: The lab is fully booked until Spring 2008. Please, plan your studies in advance! October 26, 2007: Bugs found in Maxfilter program. For details, see http://imaging.mrc-cbu.cam.ac.uk/meg/NeuromagAnalysis July 27, 2007: Welcome to Dr Oleg Korzyukov, who is an MEG expert, and has started working in the Methods group under Rik Henson to help support acquisition and analysis of data for our Cambridge MEG partners. July 12, 2007: Welcome to Ms Georgie Morill, who has started working in Memory Group, and will also have a responsibility of providing administrative support for the MEG lab. From now on, contact Georgie to ["book your slots"]. The MEG Laboratory at CBU opened for business on May 21, 2007. For starting new MEG projects please see DesigningStudies . Everyone with approved MEG project is encouraged to start piloting/testing as soon as possible. For more information about running an MEG study, please see RunningStudies .
