Accessing Neuromag Software

  • HPUX: Two HP workstations with complete set of NM MEG software are provided in the common user room. To access them, you will need your usual CBU user name and password. Once logged in, click on the toolbox icon on the tools panel at the bottom on the screen, and then on Neuromag icon. All program are started in GUI interface from there.
  • Linux: Using vnc, log onto l21 (this will change as more machines will be gradually installed). In terminal, change directory to /opt/neuromag/bin . From here, MCE can be started directly by typing ./mce . All other applications can be found one level down, under /opt/neuromag/bin/X11 and can be started from there.

If you are more in favour on GUI interface, start KDE window manager and start panel after logging into the linux pc. This is done by issuing the following commands in the terminal: kinit & kwin & kicker &

You can then find the programs from the the Redhat's start menu in the 'Other' program group.

[ [ break ] ] The major differences between the Linux and HP versions are: (1) no Graph Signal processor in Linux, (2) more recent MCE 1.4 version on Linux, (3) Linux version being beta-testing with occasional execution litches.
